Embracing Sustainability: A Ray of Hope for Vulnerable and Marginalized members of society.
In a world marked by constant flux and challenges, Oak Solutions provides specialized support services to vulnerable and marginalized members of Kenyan society empowering them to become self-reliant. While the immediate concerns revolve around providing shelter, food, and healthcare, integrating sustainability practices into vulnerable persons (women, refugees & youth) support can offer long-term benefits.
Urban refugees have become important players in the projected socio-economic development of host communities which contributes to a dynamic business environment with economies of scale.
The UNHCR Refugee Livelihoods and Economic Inclusion (2019-2023) Global Strategy emphasizes “self-reliance and resilience of refugees, empowering them to meet their needs in a safe, sustainable, and dignified manner to avoid aid-dependency and negative coping mechanisms.
To promote the dignity of survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence(SGBV), we need to invest in quality training and development initiatives, including a specific focus on mental health and psychosocial support. Oak solutions approach explores the intersection of sustainability and refugee initiatives, highlighting the positive impact these practices can have on both the environment and the displaced communities. Our strategic goal is to promote the dignity and human rights of survivors of Sexual and Gender Violence(SGBV), through business training and financial inclusion, including a specific focus on mental health and psychosocial support in Nairobi.
Objective 1: To improve the protection and reduce the vulnerability of survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), through the provision of safe working space.
Objective 2: To enhance the capacity of survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), through business training, including mentoring and advice in financial management e.g., savings and budgeting of monthly income.
Objective 3: Increase access to mental health and psychosocial services for survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) enrolled in the project.
