Sustainable Livelihoods For Urban Refugees
Oak Solutions and Umoja Refugee Group are working together on a Program, “Sustainable Llivelihoods for Urban Refugees”.
The Program Objectives are:-
- To instill the concepts of creativity and productivity to help fight Poverty, Gender based violence (GBV) and Unemployment among refugee families.
- To advocate for meaningful participation of urban refugees in economic growth activities
- Boosting self-reliance standards development for urban refugees’ families
Each Person’s Socioeconomic Growth Relates to a Clean Mind-set of Active Resilience towards Self-Reliance. Urban Refugees are facing tough situation in line with Livelihoods due To Mental Health-based instabilities. Delivering appropriate Economic Recovery Strategies to Urban Refugees has major benefits to their Socioeconomic Sustenance as well as to their Inclusive Social Integration within Host Communities.
𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐠𝐞𝐞 𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞.
While many humanitarian aid interventions, no matter how well intended, focus on refugee basic short-term needs, leaving refugees in an endless cycle of dependency.
𝐎𝐚𝐤 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 self-reliance approach goes beyond providing immediate basic needs – like food assistance and makeshift housing – for refugee clients.
𝐖𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐠𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, rather than waiting in limbo for aid that may or may not arrive.
