Mrembo Effect focuses on four priority areas:

  1. Women Leadership – Encourage women to participate and benefit equally from leadership positions. We facilitate dialogue and strategies on key issues by connecting actors to share their knowledge, experiences and ideas on relevant issues and mobilize gender equality movements to support collective actions.
  2. Income Security – Advocate for decent, safe, fair and dignified work and economic autonomy for women, where resources and power are shared in ways that enable everyone, and future generations, to thrive and realize their full potential with dignity, love and respect. We advocate for a long-term change for marginalized women who survived war, by partnering up with other organizations to influence policies and practices.
  3. Gender-based violence: Violence against women and girls (VAWG) is the most pervasive, yet least visible human rights violation in the world that affects 1 in 3 women in their lifetime. We envision a just world where the rights of all women are respected, realized and valued.
  4. Mental Health – Psychosocial Support and Counseling – Mrembo Effect fosters culture that encompasses its commitment to gender equality and adoption of good practices, positive attitudes and inclusion.

Oak solutions partners with the like-minded organizations and individuals and engages in advocacy to affect policy processes to ensure women’s human rights are respected. We build and maintain knowledge on gender equality, women’s rights, sustainable development and environmental issues to ensure effective outreach and information sharing. The aim of Mrembo Effect program is for every woman and girl to be able to realize their rights as set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, since these are essential for women’s equality.
